Apply for a Grant

It is TGFF’s desire to inspire, invest, and involve ourselves and others to further programs that achieve Sustainable Solutions for Independence.

TGFF takes a unique approach to grantmaking. We do not accept unsolicited applications. Instead, our family members actively identify and build relationships with organizations to sponsor grants. This personal connection between the family sponsor and the organization is what sets TGFF apart.

The application process is designed to create collaboration between the grantee and the family grant sponsor. We feel this results in the most successful solutions and support for our organizations.

All grant applications are submitted online. Once submitted, the online application creates a working rough draft that can be reviewed collectively between the grantee and the grant sponsor.

Getting Started

The Gibney Family Foundation offers different giving strategies based on the needs of your organization and the goals to be accomplished. Your family grant sponsor can help determine which grant type is the right fit.

Mini Grant

Mini Grants are often used for a first-time grant as we are getting to know an organization, or to support an organization where this type of funding better fits in their financial picture. A Mini Grant application is for requests up to $5,000.

What Happens After Submitting the Rough Draft?

Review and collaboration: After you click ‘Submit’ on the online application, the collaborative review process with your TGFF grant sponsor begins. If you’re following the grant timeline, you’ll have about two weeks to make any necessary changes before the final deadline.

Final grant application submission is achieved after collaboration is complete. Steps for the final submission must be completed and can be found at the bottom of the grant application.

After the final grant deadline, our team of Grant Officers will begin to review each proposal and supporting material. If questions pertaining to the proposal arise, TGFF’s Grant Manager may reach out for clarification prior to the Grant Officer’s determination meeting.

Notification will be given after the Grant Officer’s determination meeting.

One year later, all organizations that were granted funds through a Mini, Regular, or Multi-Year Grant will be required to submit a Grant Report or Interim Report.
